The site extends to 50 acres, of which around 20 acres was previously developed. This element has the benefit of an implemented (but not built) planning consent for an 850,000 sqft data centre. The majority of the previous buildings on the site were demolished in 2010/11. The site was purchased in the last quarter of 2013.
A planning application was submitted in February 2015 for 212 residential units. This was rejected by the Council. An appeal took place in September 2016 and it was ‘called in’ to the Secretary of State. A decision will be given on or before the 26th September 2017.
